Another interesting piece as usual. I would rather think that there cannot be any economic benefits to be derived from tobacco taxation. whatever is realized in terms of increased taxes cannot off set the dangerous health havoc that consumption of the 'bad' will bring on the nation. Rather than rely on heavy taxes as disincentive for tobacco consumption, government should consider encouraging advocacy and less harmful alternatives to smoking.
